Our Commitment to Net Zero by 2050
As a remote-first SME in the strategic foresight consultancy sector, we recognise our responsibility to contribute meaningfully to the UK’s Net Zero ambitions. While our operational footprint is lean and decentralised, we are committed to transparent carbon reporting and continuous improvement.
We voluntarily align with recognised sustainability principles to:
• Demonstrate our commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050
• Monitor and reduce emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories
• Embed sustainability into procurement, operations, and governance
• Support public sector clients in meeting their own carbon goals
This plan outlines our initial emissions profile, reduction targets, and the actions we are taking to decarbonise our operations and service delivery. It reflects our values of transparency, resilience, and future-readiness.
We intend to publish our first formal carbon emissions report at our one-year trading anniversary in February 2026. This will establish a verified baseline and guide our future reduction strategy.
Commitment to Achieving Net Zero by 2050
We are committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in line with UK Government targets.
Initial Emissions Profile (Provisional Estimates)
Baseline Year: February–August 2025
As a newly incorporated and remote-first SME, our emissions are primarily Scope 3, with minimal Scope 1 and 2. Our initial profile includes:
- Home office energy use (Scope 2): 0.6 tCO₂e
- Cloud computing and data storage (Scope 3): 1.1 tCO₂e
- Business travel (Scope 3): 1.4 tCO₂e
- Procurement of digital tools and services (Scope 3): 0.9 tCO₂e
- Total estimated emissions: 4.0 tCO₂e
These estimates will be refined through formal tracking and reporting in February 2026.
Carbon Reduction Targets and Actions
We aim to reduce emissions by 50 percent by 2030, with the following measures:
Operational Measures
- Encourage staff to use energy-efficient equipment and green tariffs
- Implement carbon-conscious procurement policies
- Prioritise suppliers with Net Zero commitments
Digital Optimisation
- Migrate to low-carbon cloud providers
- Reduce data storage duplication and automate archiving
- Use virtual collaboration tools to minimise travel
Travel and Events
- Default to rail over air for UK travel
- Offset emissions for essential travel via verified schemes
- Host virtual-first events and workshops
Monitoring and Reporting
We will produce our first formal carbon emissions report in February 2026, marking our one-year trading anniversary. This will establish our verified baseline and inform future reduction targets. In the interim, we use DEFRA emissions factors and internal tracking via Ecologi Zero to monitor activity and guide operational decisions.
